Except for the first 4 seasons after the 2nd World war Highbury has always been entertained by a Silver Band . Started in 1913 with the North London Excelsior Silver Prize Band. The Arsenal band was formed under the conductorship of Mr J.H. Kitchenside. After the second World War the Band did not reform. Arsenal engaged the Band of the Metropolitan Police in 1951. Opening the first game of the 1951/52 season against Huddersfield Town on 18th August 1951.
