Editorial : Queer situation last sat for FA Cup tie against
Burnley when attendance only amounted to
55.458.

Investigation shows nearly 8,000 tickets sold had
not been used . 85% were from the Burnley
allotment.

Ticket touts had obtained large quantities from
the visitors but could not sell them.
Outside the ground touts were selling 1sh 3d
tickets for only 6 pence.

William Mcgregor the first president of the Football
League . In its early days the name nearly became
The Association Football Union but that might have
pleased the Rugby Union so the idea was
abandoned.

Congratulations to Walley Barnes who opens a
sports equipement shop at 363 green Lanes.
He will be there after every home game.
